DRAFT MINUTES OF SPECIAL
BOARD MEETING
September 23, 2002
The Village Board of Trustees met for special session on September 23rd, 2002, in the Farley Room of the Oblong Municipal Building.
Members Present: Mayor Keith Waldrop, Trustee Sherry Catt, Trustee Myrl Littlejohn, Trustee Carole Jones, Trustee Jack Gallion, Trustee Bonnie Finn, Trustee Bill Hatch, Treasurer Jan Miller and Clerk Ladora Boyd.
Others Present: Public Works Superintendent Gary Lanter, Linda Cravens (Oblong Gem), John Larrabee (Illinois Oilfield Museum Member), Frank Weber (Village Attorney), Randy Harrison (Robinson Daily News) and Police Chief Chad Pusey.
1. The meeting was called to order at 12 PM (Noon) by Mayor Waldrop.
2. Mr. Larrabee came to talk to the Board of Trustees about why the Illinois Oilfield Museum wanted to turn the real estate over to the Village. He stated that to receive grant money the municipality needs to be the owner's of the real estate. Mr. Larrabee is working with Bev Turkal on a grant that needs to be sent in before October 1st, 2002. Mr Weber stated that he had written up the Ordinance and Lease. Both Mr. Larrabee and Mr. Weber answered some questions that the Board of Trustees had.
3. Motion by Sherry, with a second by Bill, to adopt Ordinance #2002-0-445 "Approving the acquisition and lease-back of real estate to Illinois Oilfield Museum at Oblong". Ayes: Bill, Bonnie, Jack, Carole, Sherry. Abstains: Myrl. Motion carried.
4. Motion by Bill, with a second by Bonnie, to adjourn at 12:30 pm. All ayes, motion carried.
