What does a Treasurer do?

Oversee the general financial management for the Village of Oblong. Plan and keep track of budgets, collect, deposit, keep track of funds, provide financial reports to the Mayor, Trustees, State and Federal governments as required.

Financial watchdog, ensuring the protection of the taxpayer’s funds.

Responsible for the reconciliation of bank statements, managing cash flow and investing and disbursing moneys for the Village of Oblong in accordance with the law.

Code of Ethics

We, the members of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association, believe in the principles underlying the governments or the United States of America and in their perpetuation as a way of life. We desire to assist in bettering the relationship between the Municipal Treasurers, all other public officials, and the people of our own and other communities.
